This week we trained the Spotlight on YA Author Lissa Price and her awesome debut novel, STARTERS.
STARTERS has spent many weeks in both the Pacific Northwest Indie Bestseller List, and the top 10 SoCal Indie Next Bestseller, and is also now an International Bestseller.
Check out my review of STARTERS here.
This week, we also featured an INTERVIEW with Starters’ Author LISSA PRICE.
Last Saturday, May 19, 2012, Lissa had her first ever signing at COSTCO in L.A. You can check out her blog post about the event here.
Author Lissa Price signing books at Costco
Of course, Maiko, Lena and I tagged along as usual. We had nice surprise when one of Lissa’s friends, noted Film Critic and Author Leonard Maltin dropped by to show his support. Naturally, we three posed for a photo op.

Lissa did special sketches for people who bought the books at Costco, and gave out some really cool swag.
The great thing about the swag and the book signed with the special sketch? Well, you get a chance to win them too!

Leonard Martin was there? Wow!
Looks like an awesome time! I wish I had fellow writers in Montreal… I mean, I’m sure there are a few, I just haven’t met them yet!
Excellent book. I hope many people join your contest.
Red.
I’ve heard about Starters, and I’m seriously thinking about getting myself a copy. cool necklace.
I’d love to win this book! I tried to get it on NetGalley and got turned down. I just read the previous post too, the interview with Lissa. Yay that one of her favorites is the Hobbit!
Yeah, just wanted to congratulate Lissa on her success. Having a book signing at Costco, with as many customers as they get, is a great idea.

Good luck with the contest!
I remember my first book signing. I was so nervous but Lissa looks quite at home in the role. Hope the contest goes well.
Congratulations to Lissa on her books signing. How awesome it must be to have writer/blogger friends close enough to stop by in person. I just read your reiew and I have read one other about Starters and it sounds amazing and it is my kind of book. I would love to win a copy. Good luck with the contest.
I should win for three reasons:
1. I’ve been dying to read this book ever since I read the first review.
2. My library doesn’t have it.
3. My local bookstore DOES have it, but I can’t afford it because I have no money. So I’ve been going to visit it in the bookstore, and that is sad.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I have read many reviews about this book and I cant wait to read it.
I have read so many good reviews about this book. The world of Starters and the characters seem very interesting.
Thank you for the great giveaway!
I have heard great things. I’m looking forward to reading it soon-hopefully a signed copy.
Yay for Lissa! I’d love to win because I adore her and I want to support her and I have no monies!
I’ve been wanting to read this for some time now, hopefully I’ll get the chance.
I am a secret fan of dystopian YA novels… I have a household of young adults and they bring them home and leave them lying around and I just can’t help picking them up and reading them. And liking them. So wouldn’t it be funny if it happened the other way around; if I was the one who left the book lying around and THEY picked it up and read it? So my reason for wanting to win – so that my kids will think I’m cool.
Today I attended my first workshop with Nutschell. She mentioned your book and I’m interested. I hope to win because I have good luck!
