Good list! On your list, aside from LOTRs, I loved Sister Act. I can watch it over and over…wait…I HAVE! Lol! And I love Sherlock Holmes the way Downy plays him and Jude Law actually plays Holmes closer to the character written by Doyle than anyone else I’ve seen. He was a solider, in good condition and well able to take care of himself. I liked that that lot!

  55. Donna Hole says:

Practical Magic; what a great movie. All your choices were cool.

  56. We have the same taste in movies! Love all of the ones you posted especially Finding Nemo, Star Wars and well all of them. :)

  57. I love Practical Magic, I even have the soundtrack :) Actually, apart from Love Actually, which I haven’t seen, and Lord of The Rings, which I can take or leave (mainly leave), I love all your choices, including the over and over again movies. :)

  58. So many great choices there. Love Actually is my daughter’s favorite romance movie, I think. They even gave their youngest daughter a middle name the same as Colin Firth’s love interest’s.

  61. Susie says:

Great list! I love Finding Nemo and Sister Act was a complete riot.

  62. I could swear I’d stopped by and commented yesterday but did not see it when I scrolled down just now.

I like the idea of selected a top film in categories-I wish I’d have thought of a way to mix it up, since my list has not changed so much in the few years since we did this last.

  63. The Sister Act was hilarious. Never heard of The Forbidden Kingdom, but it looks interesting.

Alex from A Heep of Everything

GREAT list! I love all these movies. I’m impressed that you can narrow it down, there’s so many good movies out there.

  73. Melody says:

Great list!!! I’ve seen all but about 3 – and two of them are on your “all time favorites”! I am going to have to rent them; we evidently have similar taste. I also love your blog’s background picture (the wood). :)

  74. I love Back to the Future movies. I don’t think there was one bad one in that franchise.

I need to see The Sound of Music.

  75. Jaime says:

I love that this blogfest has brought back so many great movies. I totally forgot Back to the Future. I remember my sister crying during the part when his family starts disappearing in the photograph:)

    Chuck at Apocalypse Now

Some big hitters on your list. Can’t go wrong with Finding Nemo. Back to the Future is probably my all time fave too!

  83. What a great list and I couldn’t think of a better mystery movie than that one. It doesn’t hurt that I love Sherlock Holmes. :)

  84. Miranda Hardy says:

The Sound of Music should have been on my list! Awesome movies.

  85. Julie says:

Glad we both loved Sound of Music! You put together a great list Nutschell, and Love Actually is the perfect feel good holiday movie!

  86. Great list. Of course, Harry Potter. They did a great job on those. Practical Magic was good too. Lime in the coconut!

  87. Emilyann says:

I love your movie picks! Especially Finding Nemo. I didn’t realize it had such a father-child relationship dynamic, but I happen to take my dad to see it on his birthday that year. So very nostalgic for me :)

  88. FINALLY, I’ve gotten to your list. I love the variety in your list! I like a lot of your picks even though they didn’t make it to my list: Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock was a brilliant idea. :3

  89. Trisha says:

Great movie picks here! Some are definitely on my faves list too :)

  90. Tia Bach says:

Great list! There are some I need to watch for the first time and some I need to watch again. I’ve never seen Love, Actually and I get a lot of grief from my friends about it. Guess I need to get a copy!
